I believe we are all responsible of the way our society evolves at some degree. The world is changing fast and I'm personally concerned about how our current society is destabilized by those changes.

To strive in this environment, I believe in higher education for the majority. We need to learn faster than the pace of change. Since June 2014, I have gotten myself involved in the improvement of the education education. Online courses like MOOCs are probably the game changers. Yet, they strive to get a viable business model. I believe it is now time to build a system that develops and give credibility to online courses.

I'm a software engineer and I used to train by myself on many technologies.
On the technical side, I specialized myself in Scaling Engineering, Quality Assurance and Agile Methodologies. I'm challenged on systems that require to be impactful and to scale rapidly. In a former position, I had prepared and animated some development workshops in english in an international context.
On the business side, I'm interested in disruptive innovations that can create a big social or economical impact. I perform product development through the Lean Startup methodology. I'm also experienced in Agile processes on several sites: internal teams, off-shore teams and customer teams.

Online Teacher

Since July 2015
  • In parallel to the service to companies (see below), I'm currently working on an online course in French entitled "Chroniques d'un Autodidacte 2.0" (https://vimeo.com/132795428).
    This course addresses people who want to learn new skills but do not have time or the money to do so. The course aims to develop the self-educated mindset into the applicants. Thus, it explains how to create learning objectives and to use the modern internet tools to build their knowledge in an informal but consistent way.
  • The course will be hosted on Udemy and will be charged for few euros. The plan is to make 10 chapters in a complete curriculum but each chapter will be independently available at a lower price. The first two chapters are already availble in the course entitled "Définir ses objectifs d'apprentissage" (https://www.udemy.com/definir-ses-objectifs-dapprentissage).
  • To make this course, I'm using softwares like iMovie, Adobe Illustrator, Motion, Canva.com.
    I'm also following online courses to help me build the videos: build the course scenery, develop my personal style, perform the video montage.

DevOps Evangelist

October 2015 to June 2016
  • Carrefour is the second biggest retailer in the world and it faces new challenges. Indeed, Carrefour strives to get into the digital age while Amazon and Alibaba are threatening its market share in Europe and in China.
  • As a DevOps Evangelist, I was responsible to bring the DevOps culture in a staled IT environment : - Culture : Carrefour IT services needed to own their definition of DevOps; it was done at a seminar that I organized in march 2016 - Automatization : I made the first design of a centralized Continuous Integration/Deployment that aims to speed up development and to infuse good practices - Lean : I helped to reorganize the Scrum teams with the Ops teams in a Lean workflow - Measure : I promoted the usage of a common Performance Key Indicator framework to optimize the processes - Sharing : I aggregated DevOps knowledge and know-how in a wiki shared between the product teams
  • As part of the IT innovation team, I studied and designed the first draft of a private Platform-as-a-Service that could greatly improve IT services' productivity.

Training Consultant

April 2015 to October 2015
  • Deskiss adapted its business model to help software companies to train their employees thanks to online educational content like online courses, tutorials, technical articles.
    The problem to be solved: software companies need to train their employees as the technology is evolving constantly. Traditional classroom courses are not adapted as they cost a lot of money, the employee is disabled during the course and the course timing may disturb the project planning.
    The value proposition is to help project managers to find small low-price competency-based online trainings in order to reduce the cost, to adapt the course timing to the planning and to keep the employee available at the workplace.
  • The service consisted in a newsletter adapted for each project team with custom training information.
    I developed a landing page in HTML5/CSS3/javascript to present the service (http://www.deskiss.com).
    Also, I created a newsletter with Mailchimp that I used to send the educational content to the teams.
  • I practiced the Lean Startup methodology to test the services:
    - a question form to evaluate the interest in the value proposition
    - a manual test with 2 prospects (1 big company and 1 startup) with whom I proposed my service for 1 month for free.
  • As for now, the test result is mitigated.
    The value proposition seems to be appealing but the means used for the distribution (mailing) don't fit with expectations and the customer target (software startup) may not be the most interested in the concept.

Web Developer

June 2014 to March 2015
  • Deskiss is a personal project in Education. This is a website that helps people to reach their objectives by giving them some guidance for their trainings.
  • This project has been accepted as a course project for the MOOC CBS Social Entrepreneurship. Therefore, I worked with 8 other students to refine the Business Plan.
  • The website was developed with the following technologies : node.js, sails, MongoDB, Angular.js, Bootstrap
  • My work also consisted in testing the different hypothesis of the business model following the Lean Startup (Customer Development) methodology.
    In that aspect, I performed various survey on the existing problems related to life-long learning, the interest in the value proposition, the usability of the service.
    To develop the various features and the value proposition, I followed the UX design methodology and used Design Thinking tools.

  • This project has been stopped because it was mainly too difficult to realize alone. I couldn't find an associate to work with and I couldn't work on the customer development and the product development at the same time. Therefore, I preferred to simplify the concept and focus on the companies needs only.

Metering Solution Engineer

October 2013 to May 2014
  • As part of the Architecture Department at Cloudwatt, I participated to the promotion and the development of a metering solution on Openstack (an Infrastructure as a Service platform) that captures, collects and aggregates the customer usage . This solution is used as an input for the Pay Per Use billing system of the Financial department and for the Business Intelligence appliances used by the Marketing and Strategy department.
  • We used microservices architecture (MSA) to implement the service thanks to easily manageable processes.
  • Continuous integration and deployment on testing environments was a given to guaranty the quality of the service. As for the tools, we used Jenkins for the continuous integration, Cucumber for BDD and Chef or Unix shell scripts for deployment
  • The tools were developed in Java with Spring Cloud and we used Elasticsearch and PostgreSQL as datastores.
  • SCRUM methodology was used for the development and the coordination with the other teams.

Explorator in the Prologism Lab

  • Prologism Lab was an initiative for the software consultants of Prologism to evaluate the new technologies and methodologies that could be used for our future missions
  • I specialized myself in the technologies for software factories and software infrasturcture necessary to support bigdata.
  • For continuous integration, I studied the following technologies : git and gitlab, jenkins, maven, gradle, cucumber and nexus.

Online course on Coursera:
In a team of 8 people, we had to work on the business plan of a future social company. Our course project aimed to valorize online courses from Internet into a custom program curriculum made for companies or individuals. The service was free for the individuals but not for the companies. We found potential partnerships with universities, training centers, mentorship companies and associations caring about people excluded from the education system.
Despite the real interest we found into people we talked to, we strived to find a viable business model. Also, we had difficulties to find people to test our concept as curriculums could take several months to be complete.
